D.R.I.V.E.
Engineering & Exploration Division
Mission
The D.R.I.V.E. Engineering & Exploration Division prepares learners to become engineers, inventors, roboticists, explorers, scientists, and technology leaders through immersive, hands-on experience combining creativity, engineering, automation, mobility, and space exploration.
Learners begin with fundamental engineering principles through construction and design, then advance into vehicle dynamics, autonomous systems, robotics, and aerospace. The division prepares them for careers in engineering, robotics, aerospace, transportation, manufacturing, and emerging technology industries.

D — Design with Purpose
Every engineering challenge begins with intentional design. Learners identify problems, understand user needs, design solutions, prototype, and refine through iteration.
- Design solutions
- Prototype ideas
- Think like engineers
- Build resilient systems
- Practice human-centered design
- Solve real-world challenges
Innovation begins with asking questions. Participants investigate science, mathematics, engineering, environmental systems, transportation, robotics, and emerging technologies before designing.
- Research engineering principles
- Analyze performance
- Test hypotheses
- Collect data
- Evaluate designs
- Improve through experimentation
Technology should improve lives. Learners combine engineering with creativity to invent technologies that benefit communities while respecting environmental and cultural stewardship.
- Build innovative solutions
